TOURIST POTENTIALS AND PROMOTION
OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

 With the support of Palilula Municipality, Horse Club Ninius in village Gornje Medjurovo for the fifth year traditionally organized tourist cultural manifestation Lazarica. Family home of Toni and Jasne Ilieski hosted last weekend over hundred children and their parents who came to celebrate Lazarus Saturday – Cveti - celebration that comes one week before Easter. The custom is that day young people give each other flowers so the participants of Lazarica, from very early morning starting visiting the households in Medjurovo and one children group collected flowers and made floral wreaths. During the same time, the participants of the competition in preparing fish soup gathered, participants in Japanese game GO including nature and horse ridding lovers.

TOURISM AND CULTURE – BRIDGE OF MUNICIPAL CONNECTION

 For the construction of the Amphitheater in Bobov Dol and adaptation of Memorial park Bubanj on Palilula – reconstruction of amphitheater and adaptation of park surface within the programme of cross-border cooperation Bulgaria Serbia, EU granted partner municipalities with 577,561,00 E. The value of the project, that was realized by Palilula Municipality, is 179,162,00E. Project was successfully realized and gave good impulse to the establishment of cooperation in cross-border region. Thanks to the project Coul Tour - Establishing cooperation in the sphere of cultural tourism and Bobov Dol and Palilula municipalities, realized within the IPA programme of cross-border cooperation Bulgaria-Serbia, the Amphitheater in Bobov Dol and Memorial park Bubanj –the Amphitheater and space around the monument in Palilula after the reconstruction got their new looks.

NEW ACTIVITIES OF PALILULA

 Thanks to the project of Society for development of children and young people –OPEN CLUB and support of Palilula Municipality, Foundation Novak Djokovic donated 10 bicycles to children, pupils of elementary school `Sreten Mladenovic Mika` and high schools students who live in Crvena Zvezda settlement. On this occasion, in Social center in Crvena Zvezda (Dusana Popovica bb) was organized celebration. About `Novak Djokovic` foundation spoke Gorana Dzudza Jakovljevic, project manager. After Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality congratulations, pupils who got presents were also greeted by Olgica Bajic, president of Society for development of children and young people and Jasmina Stankovic, headmaster of Sreten Mladenovic Mika.

OUR SUPPORT – SEEDLINGS
FOR PLANET EARTH

 On the occasion of the celebration of World Planet Day April 22 and realization of international projects Living GREEN, One day on Earth, Clean up the World, Palilula Municipality supported the activity of the Assembly of residents in the settlement Stara zeleznicka kolonija, Palilula, for the adaptation of the inter- residential blocks space. During this occasion, with the help of the Municipality, new seedlings were planted in the space in front of the building, emphasized the president of the Municipality Dzunic. In the cooperation with Media ecologic net EKOpolis, which is the promoter of the world wide ecologic campaigns, we directed the invitation to the people living in Palilula to show greater degree of the responsibility and cooperation on the adaptation and keeping living environment.

DECLARATION ADOPTED – PALILULA MUNICIPALITY, NIS WITHOUT GMO

 At the sixth regular meeting of Palilula Municipal Assembly, in NKC on April 8, the councilors adopted the Declaration for Palilula Municipality in Nis without genetically modified food. With this act, the territory of Nis Palilula Municipality, concluded Milos Stojkovic, Municipal Assembly president, was proclaimed for the territory without production and products of genetically modified organisms (GMO free zone) with which act this organization of local self government of the City of Nis, after Mediana and Pantelej municipalities, joined the cities of Serbia and EU that said STOP to genetically modified food. `We started with the fact that local self government is the closest to solving the problem of life environment, emphasized Boban Dzunic.

REMEMBERING THE VICTIMS
OF 1941 BOMBING

 With the support of Palilula Municipality – City of Nis, the members of the Association of citizens `Stari Nis`, that cherishes the tradition and preserving cultural heritage of Nis, gathered to remember the April 8 1941 bombing victims at Nis Old Cemetery `Gorica`. On this occasion, after the commemoration service in the presence of the priests of Orthodox Episcopal Church, representatives of Association `Stari Nis` and delegation of Palilula Municipality, City of Nis, Association of the descendants of warriors, laid flowers and wreaths on memorial place and evoked the memories of Nis bombing 72 years ago. Zlatko Semic, member of Palilula Municipal council, emphasized that Palilula actively works on the adaptation of this memorial complex under Gorica.

TOURISM AS STRATEGIC DETERMINATION

 At 14th `International Fair of tourism and active vacation`, that takes place in Nis in Cair hall April 4-6 2013, according to tradition its tourist potentials represented also Palilula Municipality. Fair exhibition area was visited by also by Boban Dzunic, president of the Municipality with his associates and representatives of economical and tourist organizations who work on Municipal territory. For the representatives of media Municipal president held the press conference. One of strategic determinations of Palilula is according to Boban Dzunic development of tourism and catering. The advantages for tourism development, beside traffic position, represent many natural and cultural goods like cultural manifestations.

WALKERS FOR THE OLD AND RETIRED

 One of four main developmental priorities and strategic aims of the development of Palilula Municipality up to 2016 is social development – improvement of social services and more care for the municipal citizens. Within the activities of this Municipality and support to the persons of the `third age`, president of Palilula Municipality Boban Dzunic and president of Municipal Assembly Milos Stojkovic, and member of Municipal Council Zlatko Semic, visited Nursing home for the old and retired – `Eskulap center` in Novo Selo. On this occasion, Municipal authorities gave walkers as present from Palilula Municipality to this Nursery Home. Palilula Delegation was greeted by Zikica Mladenovic, manager of this institution. He introduced the present guests and media representatives with the work of this private institution of social protection and care about the old and the disabled.
